A Mediterranean style home has the charm and grace to allure you. Indeed, the Papantoniou family has created a pure, classic elegance in the picturesque village of Monastiraki, on the Corinthian Bay.
The Barron
family home that we visited during the past two issues continues to speak of
the elegant comfort and beauty exhibited in the rest of the house. This
remainder of the house, including the master bedroom and bathroom, rear patio,
garden and – last, but not least! -- front entrance, all have the same color
scheme, the same style and shades of wood and fabric. Interestingly, the
onlooker does not miss any of the other colors!
We
continue to explore the Barron family’s beautiful home in this issue. Last time, we took a tour through the kitchen,
breakfast nook and powder room. Now, we walk through the formal living and
dining areas, and the office, all of which are on the main floor. These rooms
continue the theme of neutral coloring, wooden floors, and plush fabrics and
textures. The fine, rather eclectic taste of the Barrons is reflected
throughout.
Cape Town, South
Africa based Balu was born as a cottage industry in the early
90’s. The designer and creator, Barbara Louise (Balu) Nivison, for whom the
company is named, started off painting sarongs. These were sold on the beach and she then also started creating
children’s wear for her friends. Eventually she had a small group of workers in
her home, drying her artworks on the lawn.
Welcome
to the Gratzek family home. Picture a splendid three-storey antique white brick
home, set on a hilly terrain, surrounded by a forested area and backing onto a
lake. This is the residence of Elizabeth
and Tom Gratzek, their two sons and playful pet dog, Biscuit.
