Olympic Birthday Party
Invitations: Invite your guests with a themed-flag printed invitation on a plain piece of paper, and inform them they each represent a different country. Decoration: Choose primary colors to decorate the room and party-ware. Choose plain t/shirts in various colors for each child to represent a country. You could glue a printed flag on the back of each shirt. When guests arrive provide them with the t/shirt. Games: Long Jump; create a base line with masking tape and measure the length jumped by each child. -Hula Hoop or Jump Rope Contest. -Hawaiian Relays, guests could be divided in two teams. Each contestant must race from spot A to spot B. Each has to wear Hawaiian clothes (hat, shirt, necklace, sunglasses) and change at the end of the race. The next team member will wear the clothes and relay. The fastest team wins. Party Favorites: Could be sport related items, Gold Medals or an olive branch which was a symbol of peace and friendship in Ancient Greece. Remember, everyone wins!
Spring
Invitations: Invite your guests with a themed-animal printed invitation on a plain piece of paper. Decoration: Choose Jungle decorations around the room with green streamers hanging from the ceiling, and pin stuffed animals on a mosquito net. Party-ware should be animal themed with an elaborate center piece on the table including safari related items such as safari hats, coconuts, bamboo, bananas etc. or take many animal balloons and tied them on a large stuffed animal i.e. elephant, giraffe etc. Games: Pin the tail on the lion (instead of donkey). Cut out a construction paper in lion shape. Children blindfolded should pin the tail on the lion and other body parts i.e. ears, eyes etc. -I am going on a safari and I am going to pack...a compass. The next player repeats I am going on a safari and I am going to pack a compass and adds a new item. The next player repeats the items of the previous two players and adds a new item. The player who will forget one of the previous items is out from the game. -Art and Craft play time with animal cookie cutters and play dough, face painting or a lion craft. Use a paper plate and glue brown construction paper. Paint eyes, nose, mouth, whiskers, and fur. -Animal Sound Contest. Guess the animal sounds and vote for Best Noise, Funniest Noise and Least like Animal Noise. It will be Hilarious! Party Favorites: Safari related items i.e. animals, binoculars, magnifying glass etc.
Fall
Invitations: Invite you guests with a themed-happy pumpkin invitation printed or handcrafted on a construction paper. Decoration: Choose spooky items to decorate the room with green-black streamers, spiders and bat hanging from the ceiling. Games: Halloween Parade, vote for the best costume. -Ring the Pumpkin. Line up three pumpkins with their stems. Construct key rings with iron-wire and covered with a black ribbon. Each guest should try to ring the pumpkin. -The Great Pop Corn Challenge. On one side of the room have two empty buckets and on the other two full buckets with pop-corn. The player who fills the bucket with pop corn using a measuring cup wins. -How many candy bars. Have your guests' use their best guess how many candy jars are in the bar. The closest guess wins. Party Favorites: Halloween related items. Put you party favorites in a brown lunch bag decorated with a pumpkin craft.
Winter
Invitations: Cut out white light construction paper in a snowflake shape. Glue it on a plain blue blank invitation cards. Before sealing the envelope you may add small confetti. Decoration: Hang paper snowflakes from the ceiling with a "tail" sprayed with glitter. The star of the party will be the birthday child and of course snowman! Get a white sheet and fill it with a lot of fiber-fill. Tie the sheet off in two places to separate the head and main body. Decorate with buttons, hats, scarf, orange nose and a big smile. Games: Snowball Toss Game, if the weather permits to play outdoors. Take a large plywood and saw holes in it of various sizes. Children can toss Styrofoam balls through the holes. The balls that go through he smallest holes win more points. If the outside is covered with snow take advantage and have snow sculpting or sled ride contests. -Ring Toss the Snow Man. Make rings by using wire covered with ribbon or vine wreaths and toss them over to snow man's head. -Candy Globe Contest. Get a piece of corkwood and stand it up against the wall. Take small candies to fill the balloons and blow them up half-way. Staple the balloons by the tied end to the board. Give the children darts to throw at the balloons. Many candy prizes will be won in this fun contest. Party Favorites: Your neighborhood dollar store should have mittens in various colors. Fill the mittens with goodies and surprise you guests! |
