From Epicurus to Marie Curie, philosophers and
scientists alike have advocated the importance of not living in fear.
Fear, however, is a natural part of life. All of
us tend to fear something in some degree.
It is both interesting and important to explore these fears because it
helps us understand ourselves, learn how to deal with the fear, and not allow
fear to hold us back from reaching our potential.
One technique of such exploration is to determine
a symbolic representation of the fear (Here, you think of something, such as an
animal, that symbolizes your fear -- but not an animal that you actually
fear), and to ask oneself the reason for the fear. Find a writing instrument
